Class total: $200. Reserve your spot today with a $50 deposit, and pay the remaining $150 on the day of your class.
Learn the art of soap making from Leah, owner of Butterfly Bliss Naturals Soap Co., who has been making soap since 2015. This class is the ultimate experience, with tons of information and one-on-one attention.
What you'll learn
- The oils and butters that go into soap, and the role each one plays in your recipe
- Proper percentages and usage rates for the perfect batch of finished soap
- How to run a recipe through a soap calculator and formulate it properly (don't worry, we'll share the tried and true recipe we use in our own soap collection, adjusted only for allergies or personal preferences)
- Fragrance options and how to use them properly, plus colorants and additives
Your soap, your way
You'll choose your colors, from natural colorants like herbs and clays to nature-identical, skin-safe micas. You'll pick your scent, either essential oils or fragrance oils, and we'll talk through the design you'd like. Then you'll suit up, weigh out all your ingredients, and start making your soap. If you'd like, I can also record parts of your experience and take pictures, which I'll send after class.
What you take home
- A 2.5 lb silicone mold that you keep to start you off for your future soap making success, your batch of soap, which makes about 10 bars (4 to 4.5 oz each). Your will unmolded and cut your soap 24 hours after you make it.
- A soap cutter
- Batch cure cards
- A printed ebook covering everything you learned, with pictures and recipes
- A 4-page soap making checklist so you're prepared when you make soap on your own
- A list of suppliers for raw materials and ingredients
- The recipe you used in class
- A certificate of completion
